This wedding happened in the heart of COVID season, and the couple adapted so quickly. Ornella and David were told just a week prior to their wedding that their original venue could not accommodate them. They were forced to cut down their guest list, and switch to an outdoor wedding venue instead. Luckily, the Felt Estate in Holland, MI was happy to allow them to have their wedding at their venue. The Felt Mansion is such a gorgeous venue. Not only is it surrounded by the Saugatuck Dunes State Park, but the mansion also serves as a historic marker and there are frequent tours of the old house.
The couldn’t have asked for any better weather on this August day. Their first look happened on the back patio of the mansion, and it absolutely made me so happy to see David’s reaction when he saw Ornella. One of the things I love about doing engagement sessions before the wedding is getting to know each couple so that we can be extra invested in the wedding day. They got married on the front steps of the small white chapel, and then retreated to the carriage house for dinner and a small reception. The night was full of dancing and cultural experiences, and we were so happy to have been there.
